Loved Ones’ Laughter

Yo Yo, What’s going On Good People?

I hope that everyone had a good holiday season.

I've been fortunate this week. I got a plethora of gifts from family, friends, and loved ones. I spent a lot of time with different people and Boy! The amount of laughs that occurred this week was good for my soul. Good Food, Good Conversations, and Good Drinks. That has been the primary focus this week. Sure, I haven't had water in my place for the past 3 days. But I'm positive that all of the good outweighs all of the bad. So I'm not tripping about it. So let’s deep dive!

Song on Repeat This Week

Bring It On Home To Me by BJ The Chicago Kid - Another Cover that I’m in love with. BJ The Chicago Kid, PJ Mortan, Kenyon Dixon, and Charlie Bereal did their thing on this one. Truth be told, I listen to this cover more that the original by Sam Cooke.

What’s New

I've been writing more frequently since I performed my last show of 2022. One of my personal goals is to write and record at least one song a week. So I wrote a song called "The Mighty Jungle" throughout the holiday weekend. My goal is to record this song before the end of the week.

I had a performance at The Project Restaurant this past Thursday and it was a night to remember. Shoutout to Teacup, Butter, DJ Prez, and DJ Makaveli for the opportunity to perform at Tipsy Thursday. There were a lot of good artists and poets in the building as well as great people to network with. My performance itself was solid. Breath control was good, energy was consistent, and movement was present. During "Anywhere I Reside", I jumped off stage on the last verse and engaged with the crowd. It was a special moment. Thank you to all the friends that came out to support me at the show. I'm beyond blessed to have y'all in my life.

During the holiday season, I try to spend time with family and friends that I haven't seen throughout the year. It's dope to hear the great things that they have been doing this year as well as revisit stories that brought smiles to everyone around. I know that I said I'll share my list of 2022 accomplishments in this last post, but I felt like it's better saved for the first day of 2023.

I'm looking forward to sharing all of the great things that happened as well as hearing everyone else's successes.
