One Day at a Time
Yo Yo, What’s going On Good People?
Happy New Year!
First off, Happy Birthday to my Grandma Tiny! She’s turned 78 today. Whenever we are together, we laugh, smile, play spades, and drink liquor. I love her and I appreciate her.
With that being said, let’s dive into song of the of the week!
Song on Repeat This Week
Soul Ties by Handlez McGee - My Boy, Handlez dropped his project on 12/30/22 and it was worth the wait. The opening track showed how diverse the album is, but if you need ONE song to listen to, it’s Soul Ties. It has everything. Melodies, bars, flow, vulnerability, everything. This is my favorite so far. Literally inspires me to go harder in music. Appreciate you Handlez.
What’s New
It’s been an interesting week. I worked most of the week at my day job. Not gonna lie, I’ll probably take off next year for sure. There was a lot of friends and family that I wish I could of spent more time with. I spent the New Year’s watching College Football (Shoutout to Georgia for bringing it home). I’ve been afraid to record myself and I honestly didn't know why for a long time. I believe that since I’m growing and getting more personal as a songwriter, I’m hesitant because I’m bring my family, friends, and relationships into my songs. It’s not different from any other songs I created, but I think I haven’t pushed the envelope and stuck to being safe. It was a weird period, but I’m glad I’ve overcame that.
I took the time to look at the all the things that I’m proud of. Not gonna lie, this list was longer than I anticipated. This list also shows that I need to document more of my life this year. Sure, not everything will make it online, but its a good reminder that
