Sorry 4 The Wait

Yo Yo, What’s going On Good People?

First off, I apologize for missing last week’s blog post. The last two weeks have been hectic. I’ve been sick, dropping daily habits, emotionally exhausted, and mentally burnt out. Between the responsibilities of the day job, the time spent perfecting the craft, and the rest of what life has to offer, I’m spent. I had to take some time away from everything and just sit in silence. I had to reset.

With the craziness going on, there were a lot of good things that happened. I went to a baby shower to celebrate my boy and his wife's 2nd child. It’s dope to see my friends and family start their own families. It’s inspiring and I understand when people say they have baby fever. I may have to get a dog to calm that feeling.

Song on Repeat This Week

Where I Belong by Rexx Life Raj. I honestly need to sit with Rexx’s catalog. Dude is lyrical, melodic, and deep. I’m a fan of this song for sure. The intro to this song spoke to my heart. It shows the artist recognizes the details that other artists create.

What’s New

I was talking to a friend who reads the blog to find ideas to make the blog better. One of the things she suggested was to talk about an artist’s mindset to a lot of different situations. With that being said, we’re introducing the new section Behind the Mind. I’ll probably pull some of these Behind The Mind subjects for video vlogs in the future.

Behind The Mind (Consistency)

With life having some hands and getting a few rounds on me, I believe this would be the best topic to talk about for

For me, consistency with building on the brand starts with small daily habits. That’s actually one of the main reasons why I started writing a verse a day. If I write a verse day, then I can choose a verse to use for a Work Flow Wednesday. I can also use the daily verses for songs that I create. It’s a Win-Win for most scenarios. It’s easy to ride the wave when everything goes well. But I’m gonna focus on when life isn’t sweet.

For the times I do drop my habits for whatever reason, I try to make sure I don’t miss it 2 times in a row. For the weekly blog, I can’t miss this week because I missed last week. Same with the daily verse. If I miss a day of writing, I gotta make sure I write the next day.

When I am bouncing back from missing a habit, I tell myself “No Expectations”. I’m not trying to write my wittiest rhyme or the most insightful blog post. I’m trying to literally get back on the saddle of writing. So whatever comes out to get me back on track to being consistent with my habits, that’s ok because its not about quality when starting again. It’s about getting back into the groove of things. Not only that, but being aware of how to prevent the habits from being missed again. I know for me, I need to create a morning routine and evening routine. That’s the game plan

Until Next Time…
